AUTHENTICATION STANDARDS

One of the main objectives of the IAA is to help shape and influence standards for authentication in an environment where the current proliferation of proposals is not necessarily matched by a full understanding of the capabilities of authentication, the need for holistic authentication solutions and - critically - the fundamental difference between the roles of authentication and track and trace.

Alongside its role in providing input to government initiatives on anti-counterfeiting, the IAA is also working actively and closely with inter-governmental and industry associations to help ensure that the discussion and implementation of standards is based on a full understanding of what authentication can achieve, how best to devise frameworks that are relevant and practical and, above all, which are inclusive of all technologies in the authentication arena.
